Hello classmates, today I will write about how I came
to know Picorocos punch in Talcahuano.
In my second year of university I went to Concepcion, to
a national meeting of geography’ students performed at the University of Concepcion,
which I assisted with classmates from all generations of the career. At this
time I and my group of classmates went to see the Huascar ship to Talcahuano.
When we went to Huascar we got on a raft that transfer
us to the ship, where we were jumping and screaming "Huascar, Huascar
..." until someone tell us off, because this unbalanced the raft while we had to cross the water, and on
silent to avoid disturbing other visitors. Inside the ship I could travel the
cabins and dining rooms of seafarers and admirals, where stood the cabin of
Admiral Miguel Grau.
After visiting the Huascar we went to eat seafood
empanadas to the sea market. In this place the people offered us Picorocos
punch, which all sampled to know how it was; I drank just a little, for fear of
getting sick of the stomach.
This is a traditional drink in Talcahuano, because is
part of the local artisanal fishermen, and performs various seafood punch, urchins,
shrimp, piure, etc…
